CASS is automatically included in NCOAlink48 and NCOAlink18 services, or it can be ordered as a separate process. This process standardizes addresses, corrects errors and adds ZIP+4, Carrier Route and delivery bar code information.
CASS provides address standardization and verification, improves the accuracy of carrier route, five digit ZIPTM, ZIP + 4®, and delivery point codes for mailing (DPV at no extra charge).
DPV indicates if an address is complete and correct. Adding in DPV information further enhances the accuracy of the database. Going beyond the capabilities of CASS, which simply assigns ZIP + 4 codes based on address block range data, DPV will detect incomplete addresses such as missing apartment numbers and will flag the address as being deliverable or not, based on U.S. Postal Service® information.
In addition to providing address hygiene, the standardization provided by CASS is important when preparing files for additional matching or consolidation services.
The CASS process includes Address Standardization, ZIP Correction, ZIP+4 Appending, Carrier-Route Coding, Delivery Point Coding, Error Message Code, CASS Report and NDI Report.
Documents included in our CASS service include a 3553, a CASS Error Report.
