The NCOAlink48 (National Change of Address) database is entirely derived from change of address cards filed with the U.S. Postal Service, and contains about 106 million moves from the past 48 months. Whenever possible, postal recipients who move multiple times within the 4-year coverage period are linked to ensure the latest address is furnished when a match is attained The data contained within the NCOAlink48 product is comprised of approximately:
Individual Move (54%): A match on first name, middle name/initial, surname and title is required. Gender is checked and nickname possibilities are considered
Family Move (40%): Also referred to as a household move, This requires a match on surname only
Business Move (6%): This requires a match on business/firm name
Since approximately 18-20% of the households and businesses in the United States move each year, the NCOAlink48 service is increasingly valuable in reducing undeliverable-as-addressed (UAA) mail by correcting input addresses prior to mailing and providing the following benefits to you Save money on postage, printing, and list costs by only mailing clients and prospects that have a valid USPS address.
Before mailing identify your records that undeliverable-as-addressed (UAA), and in most cases correct them in advance. This allows you to get your mail piece to your intended recipient, while reducing the amount of undeliverable mail and the re-mailing.

NCOAlink48 is a good service, however it will not make lists 100% deliverable. While many factors determine the overall quality of mailing lists, NCOAlink48 will help in reducing the amount of undelivered or delayed mail. and whether or not you Receiving new address information from NCOAlink48 depends on several things:
The relocating postal customer must have filed a change of address form.
The information itself that is provided by the relocating postal customer.
The ability of the postal customer's local post office to tap into an automated address system.
The accuracy of your mailing list. Incorrect spellings and missing information both play a key role in determining an NCOAlink48 match.
For example:
The NCOAlink48 database contains "Mike Armstrong" at "345 Main St Apt 230" and your Database contains "M. Armstrong" at "345 Main St."
In this example no match would be made for several reasons.
The name is not complete.
The address is missing the apartment number
